Te Puna i te Ao Mārama is part of the Hokianga series, a group of paintings (acrylic on canvas or woodpanel), created during a 5-week visual art residency at the Rawene Church studio in the Hokianga (April - May, 2023). The title of this painting means 'The Spring of the World of Light' the original name of the Hokianga and a reference to the extraordinary states of light in this part of the world.
