Hokianga #3 is part of the Hokianga series, a group of paintings (acrylic on canvas or woodpanel), created during a 5-week visual art residency at the Rawene Church studio in the Hokianga (April - May, 2023). The focus of this residency is an exploration of shapes, contours, colours and shades of light of the unique Hokianga environment as well as finding expression of the moods and feelings that lay at times hidden behind or below its surfaces.
