Feb 21 - April 21 2026

The exhibition features the outcomes from a collaborative project between local poets and visual artists.

For this project I have worked together with the lovely and magnificent poet (and friend) Charmaine Thomson and our artistic responses to one anpther’s work has resulted in 3 poems (Little Wayfarers, Bound for Time and Ariadne Remembers) and 5 paintings (The Wayfarer, Drunk on a Rock, As Tears Go By,Beyond the Dark and Ariadne Remembers).

For our research we looked at images, writings, music and other artistic & philosophical expressions relating to the myth of the Minotaur captured in the Labyrinth of King Minos of Crete. Our research brought up questions and issues such as: what is the animal or monster within us? Ariadne’s red wool and the red ropes of Shibari; the labyrinth as a pathway towards freedom (freedom from bondage and freedom within bondage); “the chosen ones”; wine and sexual extravaganza as portals towards enlightenment; the historic fate of goddesses and heroines; golden horns (Cornucopia).
